Carol MacKenzie is a native of Alberta, Canada and has been drawn to the ocean from her prairie roots. After living on the rocky wild coast of Vancouver Island, she moved with her husband to Hawaii. While there, she studied drawing and oil painting under Snowden Hodges and Norm Graffam at the University of Hawaii campus in Kaneohe, Oahu. There she learned to love and appreciate drawing and painting the human form in the classical style of the old masters. After 18 years living in and loving Hawaii and the Aloha spirit that lives there, a new adventure brings her to another coast. In the Florida Keys the hot sun-drenched landscapes are brilliant and transparent. Carol is expanding to watercolors and acrylics in order to capture the essence of the Florida Keys in her work. Painting is not about sitting still, it is about exploring….
Painting is the spice of Life’s Journey!
Paintings are on display at Key Largo Art Gallery, 103200 Overseas Highway, Key Largo, Florida
